Our client is a major Pharmaceutical distributor in USA. They buy from different vendors in USA and sell it to their customers. They have 24 distribution centers in USA and their vendors are supplying individually to each distribution center. They want to change this model so that major vendors can ship to a single location and then that location (known as National Distribution Center or NDC) can transfer the product to individual DC depending on the requirement.
Some of the key business parameters to measure the effectivity of this model are given below.....
1. What are the overall cost saving by ordering in bulk? (We cannot do a lot here since ordering is mainly controlled in a different software)
2. Currently our client keeps 7 days of stock in a distribution center. They want to bring it down to 3 days of stock. How can we measure this in SAP?
3. They are targeting the 'self life' of any product at NDC as low as 3 hours and not more than 24 hours. How can we report that from SAP. Please remember, they are not using SAP - WM.....
