If you are trying to get back to "non-SSL" communcation between BO servers, there is an extra step to remove the SSL configuration. At least this should keep you running without SSL in the meantime.

So in addition of removing your settings in the CCM, you should navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\CER".
